Holy crap, I've turned 20. Again, this is a multipart entry, see the following two entries.
The aftermath...
I'm writing this now because for reasons that will soon become apparent, I was not in the best condition to do so last night.
So it was my birthday yesterday...my 20th to be exact. Due to the...varied manner of things that happened yesterday...there'll be an addition to each part of the site to cover them all where they SHOULD be. *shrugs* call it egomania if you really feel like it but in the end...this site is ultimately for me right? I need help remembering things...need help remembering what kind of person I was and if I could try to explain that to the people that I needed in my life...then it was all good right?
So anyways...David came over the night before, the Friday. That's not unusual at all considering that it's been happening nonstop for a month or two now. So we killed Friday night watching League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (a VERY unextraordinary movie), chilling to some weird dance type music that he'd brought, laughing at the idiot enemy ninjas in Tenchu who forget that you exist if they can't see you and at the end of the night (from 1-3AM) there was a Pauly Shore movie on TV.
I don't know WHY we watched the damned thing...geez, that guy's a fag but it seemed SO funny! The movie was absolutely retarded and old as hell but it was SOOOO jokes XD Something about him trying to be a farmer? Man, that guy's a fruitcake...
We ended up sleeping a bit after that...after watching a couple late night infomercials about the 'MIRACLE BLADE!' XD David wants to buy them now ^.^
ANYWAYS, woke up at 8:30 to watch Astro Boy... heh heh >.> STOP LAUGHING AT ME!!! I must have my cartoons...and Astro Boy goes all the way back to when I was still in Korea...it's one of the few things in my childhood that I can actually remember with any semblance of clarity so don't judge me! XD Besides...it's a wicked cartoon. Slightly corny in the views expressed but a wicked show nonetheless.
We left soon after, hitting Scarborough Town Center...he picked up two 'stoner' movies, two 'Cheech and Chong' dvd's then we hit EB and I picked up Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly o.O Heh...we also drooled at the FF:Crystal Chronicles ad for a while...cept that it was for Gamecube and therefore, of no interest...or WAS it? XD I don't think I've mentioned this anywhere but I'll just say now that my LITTLE cousin no less....he's two years younger than me but he msged me on the early morning (ie, 2AM) of the 24th to warn me not to buy a gamecube like I'd talked of so long because he had gone out and gotten it for me for my 20th o.O
Like...WOW, that came as a bit of a shock but O K XD. So we had some New York Fries for lunch and left, headed to Eglington town center to catch the movie cause STOOPID scarb town center didn't have anything good showing. I mean, honeslty, check it out for yourself. Scarb town center has NOTHING good while the cineplex at eglington has like...frigging EVERYTHING.
We went in, watched the Butterfly Effect which I'll say right now was an AMAZING movie. Honestly...don't let Ashton Kucher's (sp?) name and that kind of hokey trailer fool you. If you're into sci-fi...time travel, that kinda stuff, this is for you. If you like romance...this movie's for you. The whole love story thing threaded throughout the movie is like...EXACTLY 'my' kind of romance if you guys know what I mean, or if you watch it...you'll understand perfectly when you hit the end. Like...wow, it's SO great. I'd recommend this movie without any reservations at all to almost everyone. Juliette...knowing you, when you see Ashton's ultimate solution to his dilemma...you might get really sad. MAYBE the same with you Jane...I'm just not too sure. Joyce...not too sure about you. Jen, I'd say definately and Helen...uh, knowing you....well... To be honest, there's like...no 'cutting' in the movie so that's good for you but it might be a bit more...serious than you're used to? And I mean serious as in...like, going in depth into the darker side of life. And also knowing you, there WILL be more than one scene that makes you squirm or want to cover your eyes. Maybe leave it for a few years? XD
But yeah...a totally wicked movie. Walked out of that one feeling completely satisfied and for ONCE, so did David ^.^ On the way back to the bus stop, David stopped by at Old Navy cause he couldn't take his ears freezing anymore but ended up not buying anything cause he thought the material was 'cheap' so we went on. Got home...helped my mom grate cheese and a few other kitchen related things, got the big table outta the basement then went upstairs. Hmmm, forgot to mention up there that I also picked up the 'So Impossible' EP by Dashboard Confessional. It's just like...it has only those four songs that I spoke of earlier. I'd enjoyed and listened to them so much that I felt that I should give something back to them you know? And now I feel a bit lighter without that on my conscience. I saw a MercyMe cd there too...but c'mon, people can't change THAT much so fast right? -.-
Went upstairs, tried Fatal Frame...it's like...most horror games I try these days has a decidedly western feel to them. Huge amounts of firepower, grotesque monsters, zombies, demons and stupid puzzles. But this one...imagine the feel of 'The Ring' transmuted into a video game. Monsters are all ghosts...and they look...not gross. There're no ripped up, mangled bodies or mutated thingys coming after you...but the ghosts that you DO see are decidedly creepy...almost never "BOo!!" scary but just...creepy. Like..one of the first ghosts you kill is this woman ghost that sloooowly crawls out of the box a la Sadako/Samara in 'The Ring' CREEPY!! O.O
Cousins came over then, Matilda's family. Han-I was just being boring and studying. Han-Sen, I started up CS for him upstairs and that was it. Spent most of the night downstairs, munching on grapes and things while drinking shot after shot of that Goldschlager shit that David had brought. All told, by the end of the night, I must have had around...what? Let me try counting...four with dinner and maybe another 3-4 after that? Was pleasantly tipsy...just slightly dizzy. Heh... >.>
I know now that I'm slightly more pleasant company when I'm at that state. I could tell from the actual smile on my mom's face everytime I would talk. I normally don't talk too much in adult company, I really don't but meh...last night, whatever...
The night finished with a VERY brief snowball fight with David outside with no coat in that -27 degree weather when Matilda and David left then up to my room, chatting with people.
So all in all, a good night I think. I actually enjoyed myself on my birthday so that's something new. Heh...so a bunch of you guys got to see me a bit...pished to use Conan's word. Mainly...I think the people in the IRC chan that were around...Joyce (who said that she preferred me better when I wasn't drunk ^.^), err, having a hard time remembering... XD
Okay..there was also Kevin, Helen (who said I wasn't much different than normal XD), Jane...I talked to you for a while to and I'm PRETTY sure that there were some others but that's all that I can clearly remember.
Now while I KNOW that I got a little...'maudlin' as they say ("I LOVE YOU GUYS!" *cries* ^.^;;) I'm also pretty sure that I might have said...or revealed some things to certain people that I shouldn't have... -.-
We'll see how it turns out eh? I got wished many a Happy Birthday yesterday...even from unexpected places, like Jen's mailed birthday card or from Andrea and Kim of all people...from a bunch of people that I would never have expected to remember or know...and some people that I would have expected it from...kinda didn't work out. But it's still all good right? A guy's gotta be happy with what he can get right?
Anyways, that was my birthday.
And now I'm 20... o.O
