Welcome to the twisted mind of the Lord Snow

I'm going to start recording my dreams whenever I can...dunno why but I'm pretty sure that the idea came from Jen and her gift to me. They'll be kept here for...fairly obvious reasons.

Dream 11: Unsettling...

* * * * *

Woke up from an unsettling nightmare this morning. And it was unsettling more than scary for some reason.

At first, it seemed that I had suddenly become a character in a Silent Hill game. I was driving home to my wife (i think?) and things seemed to be going wrong all around me but I didn't really notice. Kind of like the beginning of Shaun of the Dead when people in the streets start changing but Shaun never notices until the zombie problem invades his home.

I remember trying to get some news in the car radio but only getting very disturbing white noise that didn't really seem QUITE like white noise but was definitely something trying to talk.

When I got home (I lived in an apartment) it was like being a character in a movie cause as I was walking to the doors leading to the lobby, I could see what was happening inside it.

There was a receptionist smiling and talking on the phone and one of the elevator doors opened to reveal a disabled man (he was on his feet but used two crutches) smiling.

Things go black for an instant and when it clear up, the disabled man is on the floor, having fallen down somehow and the doors of the elevator are closing on him, bumping, then opening, repeatedly. In the shadow of the interior of the elevator, something can be dimly seen standing over his body...but I can't make it out. I remember expecting the receptionist to come and help him...but just then, a ball rolls across the floor in front of the elevator and I see that it isn't a ball...it is in fact the head of the said receptionist which has somehow become detached from the body. The elevator man sees this and goes unconscious.

I walk into the building, nothing seems out of the ordinary. Walk up to the elevators and push the button. I see something that incites a feeling of vague disquiet (don't remember what it was) and I turn to the receptionist that I saw behind the counter to see that she's not there. Odd.

The elevator opens and I enter. Then it switches around, making me feel like I'm IN the video game. Inside the elevator, I check my inventory, select my housekeys and examine them to find that they say 427. So I push the button for the 4th floor to get up okay. I wander up and down the hallways trying to find my own door but eventually find it and step inside.

I immediately walk across the living room to the phone because I want to save my game and know that I have to call some number to do so but the phone is dead so I figure that the game wants me to do something in the apartment first before saving. As I walk to the washroom and fumble for the lights, I can see a glimpse into the bedroom and see a person-shaped bump on the bed. I somehow know it to be my wife and know also that she is dead.

I hit the lights but they don't work and I step into the washroom. As I was my hands, the scene is cut to the bedroom which I can't see...where the lump on the bed sloooowly rises, with the white sheets still over its head, the body rises and gets up, the sheets dropping down to reveal...nothing. It is too dark to see.

In the washroom, I look up from washing my hands to suddenly be confronted by this THING that has risen from the bedroom. With a shout, I backup a step or two, knowing that if I am touched by it, I will die. I pull out the wooden board that was in my inventory, and start attacking it, heart beating a mile a minute.

Eventually, it falls to the ground and begins moaning at which point, I kick it to kill it for good (play silent hill and you'll understand what i mean).

I stumble into the bedrooom and punch in the correct numbers on the phone...and save my game.

...

I woke up.

So what do you think? Strange huh?
