I'm going to start recording my dreams whenever I can...dunno why but I'm pretty sure that the idea came from Jen and her gift to me. They'll be kept here for...fairly obvious reasons.
Dream 15: Conspiracy?
I was running through this dream throughout the entire night and as a consequence, I feel like shit this morning; as if I haven't gotten any sleep. What I do know is that I have woken up at least two or three times during the night and each time I fell back asleep, the dream simply continued as if it was paused and waiting for me to return.
On a further note, this is starting from the middle somewhere as I don't remember how it started but rest assured, the beginning half was about as long as what I remember.
* * * * *
I'm running around looking for a girl. She's not mine in the sense that we're not in a relationship or anything but I love her anyway. I know that she's some sort of political figure with influence.
I'm heading up to the roof of a building. I do this along the outside along the multiple convenient tiers that the building seems to have. Each "step" is a bit higher than I am tall.
I get onto the roof and I find her there and there is a joyful reunion. She was scared because someone is chasing her, perhaps the opposing political party. Just as we part from a hug, a helicoptor looms up from one side of the building, shining a bright light across the rooftop. Hand in hand, we run around the edges of the building, looking for some way to escape but there is none. The "steps" that I'd taken to get up there have magically vanished and just as suddenly, the building is like 30 stories tall.
There's no escape and as we check out the last side of the building, the helicoptor starts to rev up the chaingun it has mounted on the side so with no other recourse, we jump off the edge.
We land three stories down onto some guy's balcony. He's sitting out there drinking a cup of tea with a raised eyebrow at our sudden arrival and i tell him that "we've just dropped in because my 'wife' had a sudden craving for tea." He looks at us blankly before turning his attention back to his cup.
As we enter the apartment proper and are about to leave it, the door bursts open and in walks in the girl's boyfriend or husband or lover and there is another reunion, bittersweet for me as I've once again been relegated to second place.
We leave the apartment and head for the elevators when a group of men in black suits come out to try and catch us. We fight them off and "Jason," the boyfriend guy manages to get a handgun off of one of them.
We head back to the apartment with the tea guy who I suddenly know of as a friend. More than that, he's been gathering information for us on the opposing government, looking for somethign incriminating that we can use against them.
We walk in but he's not there. All that's left in his apartment are his many cats and his many boxes of puzzles (he had an obsession with them). We're looking for him throughout the apartment and the girl is sort of mourning his loss. I check out the balconey but only see a small cat that stares at me inscrutably.
I get called back into the apartment and the girl is holding up some odd looking glasses, saying that this is what the cat guy has found out for us to use against the people that are chasing us.
More suited men barge into the apartment and we fight past them and head for the roof.
The roof has changed in shape and configuration again since the beginning of the dream. There are two seperate tiers, linked in two places by wide staircases. We're looking for a way down when the girl curiously puts on the special glasses and spots something that makes her scream. It's a large figure, that looks like man that's overdosed on some very potent steroids as the muscles have long since stopped looking anywhere near normal and bulge in odd ways and look almost to be filled with liquid rather than flesh. It turns out that these mutated people can only be seen when looking through the special glasses as i see nothing when I look to where she's staring.
I take the glasses from her and see another one right behind her so I knock it away and demand that Jason toss me the gun he picked up and he does so. I begin to shoot at the creatures and when the bullets land, they don't bleed or explode but flash all over as an indication that they've been hit, looking sort of like the enemies in the Megaman games once you hit them. It takes two or three shots to kill each one but there are too many, coming from seemingly nowhere at all, swarming all around the roof.
One gets near the girl but I shoot away one that's grabbed Jason first and I'm turning back to the one going after the girl when I hear a sudden noise behind me and turn to that instead. I see one right behind me and start shooting at it but it won't die or flash and instead, sort of cracks. The one near the girl has bitten off her hand but I keep shooting at the one in front of me and I know why it hasn't been dying. It's because it's behind the glass and steel door of the elevator that's magically appeared behind me.
The door finally opens and I shoot it down and turn back to the one attacking the girl. Her arm up to the upper part of her elbow is gone now but I kill the creature. She swoons and I grab her around the waist to keep her from falling with one hand while still shooting with the other. Some of the monsters walking up to us now start to bubble and expand and I know that they will explode soon.
Abandoning the gun, I sweep the girl off her feet, cradling her in my arms and begin to run down a wide staircase that's suddenly appeared leading down into the building. Jason is way ahead of us, seeming to completely ignore the plight of his girl.
So we're running down these stairs, telling her comforting things in a rush as we run like, "you're going to be okay," and all the rest of that. The stairs ends and there's a revolving door that's still spinning with Jason's passage. I time it right and we get through okay and there's another escalator heading down further. The things on the roof blow up then and I'm dodging all of the slow moving people on it as I continue heading downwards.
At the bottom, I take another escalator heading upwards and I see Jason very far ahead, shoving people out of his way to get to the top. I continue onward at a somewhat slower pace carrying the girl, calling out his name.
The escalator brings us to a mall that looks an awful lot like Scarborough Town Center which I run through with the girl and her missing arm still in my arms. I'm still looking for Jason and I see him once but he puts on his earphones and walks away no matter how much I call out his name. Oddly enough, he looks a lot like my cousin James.
I spot the men in suits behind us again so we run once more.
We run into the puzzle/cat guy from the apartment suddenly and are joyed to find that he's not dead.
However, he utters a single comment that turns the tables and we know that he's on the side of the enemy. I'm just about to articulate this when I'm pistol-whips me in the back of the head, knocking me out cold.
I wake up to find two girls, they look exactly the same. One is mine and her arm has been healed somehow but the other is a clone or a duplicate of some sort and she speaks of resigning from her position of power and abdicating.
This has been their plan all along and now it's about to come to fruition as my girl is too weak to resist and I'm being held by the goons in black.
It's a lost cause.

And then I woke up as my grandmother was downstairs and my dog was barking up a storm.
Strange one eh?
