Welcome to the twisted mind of the Lord Snow

These are the things that I want to remember...or the memories that have just appeared in my mind and refuse to leave until they're told...these are the things that will be written here...

Memories 1: Sesame Street

Coming home from school had me taking the bus home. Back about two years ago when I still lived at Victoria Park and Finch, I used to take the bus down Lawrence and then straight up Victoria Park. This eventually changed due to a bunch of reasons that I won't get into right now but the end result was that by the middle of the year, I was going home the Don Mills/Van Horne route. This accomplished a few things like shave about 5 mintues off my trip home and packed me into crowded buses pretty much every day but the upside was that I eventually discovered that Lydia went home this way too. This was a plus for me considering that I...well, considering that I had fallen for this girl...

But anyways, this isn't really about that. Today, I was struck with a memory that replayed over and over and over for some reason out of the blue. On the way home, I remember getting off the Don Mills bus and being pleasantly surprised to see you standing alone at the Van Horne stop. I remember being so nervous whenever you were around...it was bad enough for my sister to catch onto it even without me saying a word to her about it...but I tried. We talked lightly about a whole bunch of topics until the bus came and we got on. The ride was a pretty short one and in one way, I was sad because obviously, because you would be gone soon but in another way, I was a little happy and a little relieved...mainly cause if you were gone, there's no way that I could make a fool outta myself in front of you right?

I still don't remember how the conversation got around to it but I DO remember that somehow, we started talking about strange names for roads that we knew of. The usual roads, Satan rd. and Edmonton road came up as we passed em and here's something else I remember...I remember chuckling a bit as I asked rhetorically,

"Wouldn't it be funny if there was a Sesame Street?" You gave me a...look? Half your mouth turned up in a slight smile as you replied,

"But there is." I remember giving you a shocked look.

"No way...where? I wanna go there!" You gave me another half smile.

"You just go down Victoria Park and you know where the Van Horne bus turns in? You just go a little further to near my street, turn right and the second street on your left is Sesame Street." I remember how you froze for a second, a brief pause before you chuckled quietly to yourself.

"You know what? I just realized that I told you how to get to Sesame Street." You clarified your comment a bit when you saw my blank stare. "You know...the theme song? 'Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street'?" I stared at you for a second or two before it hit me and I started to laugh...you gave me your usual small grin before directing my attention out the window with the nod of your head.

"This is your stop." Still grinning at that unexpected little bit of humor, I said my goodbye and got off the bus...
