Welcome to the twisted mind of the Lord Snow

What the hell is wrong with these people??

Can you put a price on true love?

So...a bunch of us were just hanging around at a sitting area in H-Wing at school while waiting for class to start. Lauren was there with me arguing with a couple of our friends as the topic eventually came around to "how much money would it take to get you to give up your soul mate."

Funny topic yes? What amazed me even more was the way most people responded to it. Other than Lauren, everyone that was in the conversation stated very ardently that they would give up their soul mates for a million dollars without any hesitation. Like...what the fuck you know?

I was honestly very surprised...like, even though most of the people talking declared themselves cynics, the question was would you give up your soul mate for a million dollars. Your soul mate for a million dollars...what? Are these people out of their minds? Me personally, I don't even think that I'd be willing to give up a CHANCE at my soul mate for a million dollars.

I highly doubt that I'm saying this or I feel this way just because I've found my own love...I honestly think that if someone had posed that question to me even before I hooked up with Lauren, that I would choose a soul mate over mere money any day of the week unless I somehow end up penniless and on the streets later in life...and even then, it's iffy.

What kind of people do I talk to? People willing to give up the OTHER HALF OF THEIR SOULS for fucking MONEY. Money...of all things, for a million dollars. I find it shocking...

I don't know if Lauren is MY soul mate. There's no big flashing neon sign that blinks on and off above her head declaring who's soul mate she is. But we click, and in my ever so humble opinion, we click fairly well. I know that there's no way in hell that I would give her up for a mere million dollars. Or ten. Or more. There's almost nothing in the world that I would trade in Lauren or the time I've spent with her or how I feel for her.

Am I that fundamentally different from the people that I'm hanging around? Or is there something more to it than that that I simply can't see...?
